TUCSON, Ariz. – Mizzou Women’s Golf bounced back on day three of the MountainView Collegiate, moving up five spots over the course of Round Three to finish the tournament in sole possession of third place. The Tigers tied for the best score of any team on the final day, shooting 5-under par, which matched that of Illinois, who won the event.  Junior Cayce Hendrickson (Benton, Ky.) played arguably the best tournament of her career, shooting a 2-over-par through her three rounds to take a share of eighth place. It was the first Top-10 finish of her career, and her 70 2-under par on Sunday was crucial for the Tiger comeback.

“I want to give some props to our team,” head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. “We came out and did what we had to do in the third round. I am proud of all of our girls.”

Junior Emma Allen (Southampton, England) also played an excellent third round, shooting a 71 over the final 18 holes. The stellar round pushed her up to a tie for 13th place.

Just a stroke off of Allen’s pace was Jess Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.), who fired the best Mizzou round of the day, a 69, to help the Tigers secure sole possession of third place. Yuen was especially clutch coming down the stretch, collecting a birdie on hole six to help push the Tigers past Kansas. Allen, Hendrickson and Yuen stepped up in the final round as part of Mizzou’s surge up the leaderboard.

Senior Clara Young (North Brunswick, Scotland) and junior Amanda Kim (O’Fallon, Mo.) both finished tied for the 39th place at the MountainView, shooting identical 228s over their three rounds played. Young, much like Yuen, birdied on her last hole to help Mizzou secure third place.

Mizzou’s two unattached individuals also played well on the final day in Tucson. Redshirt junior Mackenzie Perez (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) shot a 75 on the final day to finish at 240, while sophomore Cherise Otter (Bloomington, Ind.) shot a spectacular 71 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 13-over-par.
