CFS downs Fulton City 18-0 in four innings

Making their season debut Thursday against Fulton City, it took the Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles just three innings to put together 18 runs on five hit to win 18-0. Maddie Ortt pitched four innings for the win allowing just one hit while Abigail Cima had the hot bat, going 2 for 4 with a double, triple and five RBIs.

Opening with a 7-run first inning, the scoring began on a 2-run double by Cima, a run scored on Ortt’s ground out and CFS took a 4-0 lead when Renee Shields was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Emma Fletcher and Maggie Wagner scored on wild pitches and Shields came in on a passed ball for a 7-0 lead.

Six more runs came across home plate in the second inning on a wild pitch, a ground ball by Shields brought in two runs and Cima’s triple scored three runs for a 13-0 lead. Their 5-run third inning began with two outs, scoring three runs on errors, an RBI single by Jaycie Jackson and another 2-run error.

The Lady Eagles are scheduled to play a double-header today against Hopkins County Central with the first pitch at 5:30.
