The Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce in Marshall County is pleased to announce that the Marshall County Board of Education in Draffenville has been named “Business of the Month” for March 2018.
While many parents are well acquainted with their child’s school secretaries and teachers, and while other in-school staff make up the smiling faces seen every day when dropping off or picking up children from school, these parents may never see the team of support professionals and administrators that work behind the scenes to keep Marshall County Schools running smoothly.
The Marshall County School District serves over 5,000 children and employs nearly 700 faculty and staff, making it one of the largest “businesses” in the county. Any good business needs a headquarters, and the Marshall County Board of Education‘s Central Office is the hub of the school district; its staff handles finance and accounting, benefits and retirement, technology, human resources, substitutes, student attendance, food services and instructional supervision for the district’s nine schools and various satellite buildings.
The Central Office is also home to facilities, maintenance, and the bus garage, which coordinates Marshall County’s large fleet of school buses every morning and every afternoon. It is located at 86 High School Road in Draffenville, just before Marshall County High School. Operating hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday –Friday and they operate during all school breaks, except for holidays, and can be reached by phone at 270-527-8628.
Please, continue to keep the teachers, staff, and other faculty of the Marshall County School District, as well as the Central Office staff in your hearts and prayers throughout the remainder of the school year, and in the years ahead.
