Christian Fellowship School is kicking off their 13th Serve-a-thon! The month of March is set aside as a time of service and community outreach. Each class chooses a project or a group to serve. This year we are specifically focusing on our Marshall County community. Below is a list of each classes project:
Preschool: Mrs. Kelli Bathon
On Wednesday, March 21st, preschool students will deliver breakfast to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Afterwards, they will deliver baby items they’ve collected to the Life House in Murray.
Kindergarten: Mrs. Brandi Haynes
On Thursday, March 22nd, kindergarten students will deliver care packages to the health care workers at Marshall County Hospital’s Doctor Building. The class collects packaged food and prepares the goodie bags.
First grade: Mrs. Nancy Pace
These ambitious students will have 2 projects. On Monday, March 12th, students will read books to the elderly residents at the Stilley House and enjoy an ice cream party with them. Afterwards, they will have “Captain Encouragement Day”, dressing up in capes and writing and delivering encouraging notes to people in the community.
First/second grade: Mrs. Summer LeClaire and Mrs. Suzie Burnett
Second and third grade students will collect supplies for the Humane Society of Marshall County. On Thursday, March 15th, they will deliver the items and work in the kennel. Later that afternoon they will pick up trash at Mike Miller Park.
Fourth/fifth grade: Ms. Rhonda Elkins and Ms. Lori Fleming
Fourth and fifth grade will join together and deliver blessing bags to the officers at the Benton Police Department on Wednesday, March 28th. Four of the officers are scheduled to visit the classroom later this month, further building a positive relationship.
**All Middle and High school classes will be doing their service projects on Thursday, March 15th.
Sixth grade Mrs. Beth Griggs
Sixth grade students will be servicing, cleaning, and delivering supplies for the Little Grocery Boxes that are set up throughout Marshall County. This ministry helps assist low-income families with grocery needs.
Seventh grade Mrs. Rhonda Bloemer
Seventh grade students will volunteer at the Clarks River Wildlife Refuge. They will be planting trees and picking up trash.
Eighth grade Mrs. Rachel Cary
Eighth grade students will assist the10th grade class in packaging and delivering personalized goodie bags to Marshall County High School faculty and staff. In the afternoon, students will volunteer at Haven of Hope in Benton with various projects.
Ninth grade Mrs. Nancy Burns
The freshmen class will work at Marcella’s Kitchen and help serve lunch. Later, they will volunteer at the Marshall County Humane Society.
10th grade Mrs. Stepheni Bivin
The sophomore class will be packaging and delivering personalized goodie bags to the Marshall County Board of Education Office and Marshall County High School. Students will write personalized notes to each employee and bless them with snacks that have encouraging words. The 8th grade class will be working with the sophomores on this task. During the afternoon, the sophomores will travel to Murray to volunteer at Need Line.
11th grade Mr. Tyler Ryan
The junior class will work at Christian Fellowship Ministry Food Pantry which helps low income families. They will deliver food to families in the community.
12th grade Mr. Mike Muller
The senior class will be working with a family through Hardin Baptist Church that is in need.
