Mrs. America Miller McCarty, age 82 of Mayfield, KY died on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
Born Saturday, January 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Anna Laura (Prater) Richie.
Surviving are daughter Laura Prather, husband Danny of Benton, KY, son, Herbert Miller, wife Cheryl of Hardin, KY, daughter, Bernice Arnett, husband Richard of Mayfield, KY, brothers, Ordway Richie of Laport, IN and Maynard Richie of Winchester, KY, sisters, Madelyn Stacey of Salyersville, KY, Naomi Richie Thorpe of Beativille, KY and Marcella McCarty of Winchester, KY, grandchildren, Donna James, Gary Prather, Tonya America Lindsey, Kayla Miller Kirby, Kevin Woodrow Miller, 3 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Miller, second husband, Clyde McCarty, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandchild.
A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025, Bro. Gavin Doran and Adam Stevenson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Briensburg Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home.
