Marshall County Preschool Head Start Early Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Registrations will be taken by appointment only on March 13th, March 14th, April 10th, April 11th and April 17th at the Woodmen Building located at 1005 Poplar St in Benton.
To register for preschool, the child must be a Marshall County resident and age 3 or 4 by August 1, 2018. Eligibility is based upon federal income guidelines or developmental delay or disability, regardless of income.
Early Head Start is a home-based option for pregnant moms and children up to the age of 3 which provides child development education and family support. Families must meet income guidelines to qualify.
At time of registration, parents must bring:
-child’s certified birth certificate
-proof of all applicable 2017 household income:
1040 tax return or all 2017 W-2s, child support received in 2017, unemployment
benefits, K-TAP, Social Security, SSI and school grant/scholarships
-child’s medical insurance card
-custody papers, if applicable
Marshall County Preschool Screenings will be held on April 20th at Benton First United Methodist Church. Developmental screenings are available to any child residing in Marshall County who turns 3 or 4 by August 1, 2018. Screenings are by appointment only.
Head Start staff can assist families to understand and access transportation options in order to participate in Head Start program activities.
