Chamber announces upcoming dinner and award recipients

The Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce would like to announce that the new dinner date for the Chamber’s Annual Dinner has been set for Tuesday, February 20th, 2018. This event will take place at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Convention Center. The Chamber made the decision to postpone the dinner originally scheduled for January 25th, since they knew the community was still in shock and still hurting from what happened at the high school on January 23rd. “We just knew the community wasn’t ready to experience a great evening of fun and fellowship that soon after what had happened, so we are grateful to the state park for understanding that as well and allowing us to reschedule the event for a later time. We do still feel like our award recipients deserve a special night of recognition and that is what we plan to do on the 20th” said Chamber Director Debbie Buchanan.

The evening will begin with doors opening at 5:00 pm, with a mix and mingle type atmosphere happening until about 6:00 pm to give guests plenty of time to arrive and visit with each other. Snacks and a cash bar sponsored by the Kentucky Lake CVB will be available. This will also be a time to check out and bid on the silent auction items that have been donated. At 6:00 pm the buffet lines will open up so guests can help themselves to a great line-up of dinner entrees prepared by the chefs at Ky Dam Village. Following dinner we will attempt a friendly game of “Business Feud” with our host Zach Brien, using the survey results from the survey we put out and using contestants drawn at random from the audience, so you won’t want to miss that! Then around 7:00 pm the evening will transition to the Chamber part of program with Chamber board recognition and the evening will conclude with the highlight of honoring some very worthy award recipients.

Those being honored this year are: Image Promotions with Business of the Year, Ann Riley with Citizen of the Year, Estron Chemical with Industry of the Year, Peel & Holland with Lifetime Achievement Award and a newly created award going to Joe Tom Haltom with the Chamber Capstone Award.

This will be a night you won’t want to miss! You can still get tickets through Friday February 16th by contacting the Chamber at 527-7665 or by emailing chamber@marshallcounty.net. Tickets for the event are $30.00 per person. Also, if your business has not already contributed in some way to the victims’ families, but you would like to…..we will be donating all the proceeds from the dinner’s silent auction to the Marshall Strong fund, so you can participate by donating an item or service from your business. Just drop it by the Chamber office or let them know you are bringing one to dinner. Please make plans to come – you will be glad you did!
