
Play continued Saturday in the Gunner’s Magic Train Classic starting with the Lady Marshals taking on Hamilton County, IL and the Marshals game against Arnold, FL.
The Lady Marshals won 53-39, pulling away from Hamilton County in the fourth quarter, out-scoring them 17-6 after a close three quarters of play. Hamilton County led by one at the end of the first quarter and the lead at halftime went back to the Lady Marshals by one point. At the end of the third quarter, the lead was three for the Lady Marshals and they took that momentum into the final quarter to win by 14.
Hamilton County scored 18 of their points from three point range while the Lady Marshals were nearly perfect at the foul line hitting 17 of 19 for 89.4%. Scoring leaders were Tera Colson with 15 points and Lorin Powell with 12.

The Marshals handily defeated the Arnold Marlins by a final score of 62-17. They led 22-2 at the end of the first quarter and scored another 21 points in the second quarter to lead 43-7 at halftime. Tyler Powell led the Marshal with 12 points and nine each came from Skyler Smith, Tyler Stokes and Aaron Reed.
Nineteen Arnold turnovers led to 22 points by the Marshals. The Marshals scored 27 points from three-point range, Powell hitting three of the nine.
