Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles were back on the court in competition for the first time since their season opener on December 2nd in games on January 8th against CCA and January 9th against Egyptian, IL. The Lady Eagles fell in those two contests to drop to 0-3 in the early going of their season.
In their 39-27 loss to CCA, the Lady Eagles were led by Rachel Howard with 13 points. Kenzie Murdock and Jayden Jackson each added four points with four players scoring two points each – Maddie Ortt, Eddie Little, Maggie Choate and Lillian Burnett. Little led with nine points in their 54-21 loss to Egyptian. Howard followed with five points, four from Murdock, two by Ortt and one point from Choate.
Christian Fellowship’s boy’s team picked up their fourth win of the season over CCA. Brice Etheridge led the Eagles with 15 points in their 68-34 win. CFS took control of the game early with a 24-7 lead after the first quarter. Ben Carter led CCA with 13 points.
The Eagles followed up their win over CCA with a hard-fought loss to Egyptian by 10 points. Etheridge led the Eagles with 20 points in the 70-60 loss, Hummel added 16 and 15 from Covey.
CFS fell to Joppa, IL on January 6th by three points led in scoring by Nathaniel Hummel with 17 points. The Eagles led 23-21 at halftime and by one point at the end of the third quarter before Joppa out-scored them by four points in the fourth to take the win.
The Eagles are 4-8 and scheduled to play Fulton City in this week’s All ‘A’ Tournament at Mayfield that has been postponed due to the weather conditions.
