SMMS student wins geography bee

Cal Strait, a South Marshall Middle School seventh grader, won the 2018 National Geography Bee held on Wednesday, Jan. 10 and SMMS. The event was coordinated by Mr. Chris Harvey.

Straight will now take a state qualifying exam. If he passes, he will take part in the State Geography Bee held in late March. He will have a chance to win a trip to the National Geography Bee in Washington, D.C., and a $50,000 college scholarship. For more info, you can visit www.nationalgeographic.org
