Mr. Ed Martin Sutherland, age 95 of Kirksey, KY died on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. He was a veteran of the US Airforce and served during World War II. He was retired from Security for Chrysler World Headquarters in Michigan.
Born Saturday, April 15, 1922 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late Floyd Raven and Grace (Thomas) Sutherland.
Surviving are his son, Timothy M. Sutherland of Brewers, KY, and grandchildren, Matthew Sutherland and Jaime Sutherland of Dearborn, MI.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn (Hammer) Sutherland, parents, brothers, Harold Thomas Sutherland, Pat Sutherland, Martin Sutherland, and sisters, Virginia Jones, Josie Miller, Reba Laverne Hammer and Ida Belle Cole.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Mark Thweatt officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
