Ralph Howard, Calvert City clerk and treasurer for the last 12 years, celebrated his last day of work before retirement Wednesday at City Hall in Calvert City. The city hosted an afternoon reception for Howard, a resident and native of Calvert City. Howard said he intended to take more time with his family, including traveling with his wife Linda, helping his son with his business in Lexington and seeing more of his 7-year-old granddaughter.

Howard said he’d seen a lot of positive growth in Calvert City throughout his time there, and he intends to remain in the area.
