Mr. Joe Burnett Hardison, 77, of Benton, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton. He was a tirebuilder for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City, TN.
He was the son of the late William Hastin Hardison and the late Pearl (McGregor) Hardison.
He is survived by his son, William Hardison of Texas; his niece and caregiver, Martha Kelley and husband Phillip of Benton; nieces, Phyllis Hetter, Mary Potts, Norma Denfip, Brenda Colson, Clara Reed, Janice Johnston, Patricia “Tish” Hunter, Sara Hunter, Becky Arant, Debbie Lindsey, Linda Mathis, Amy Wolf, Carol Crocker, Cindy Austin and Charlotte Morris; nephews, Don West and Gary Hardison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Joe Allen Hardison; daughter, Carolyn Hardison; two brothers, Charles “Buddy” Hardison and Billy Ray Hardison; three sisters, Mary West, Nell Henson and Katherine West; one nephew, Wilson West.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the Benton Cemetery. Bro. Glenn Cope will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Benton Cemetery in Benton.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of noon and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
