Big Orange Madness pumps fans up for basketball season

The best moment of the alumni game came on a special play in the closing 10 seconds when former players hoisted Barney Thweatt up for the final basket of the game.

Big Orange Madness kicked off the 2017-2018 basketball season in a big way! Fans were treated to an evening of food, fun and basketball highlighted by an alumni game filled with Marshall County players that included former college and pro players, current and former coaches, former Sweet 16 and Elite 8 players and a very special Brewers Redmen 1948 state champion, Barney Thweatt.

Introductions were made of teams elementary through high school, scrimmages, cheer and dance performances, pep band, money scrambles and a shoot to win a car competition made the evening a fun event for all ages. AJ from the Electric 96.9 Morning Show introduced teams and added some play-by-play to the alumni and high school scrimmages.

The Lady Marshals first regular season game is November 30th against Massac County, IL in the Hoopfest and the Marshals will kick the season off at home on November 28th against Muhlenberg County.
