Looking for a safe Halloween event to take the kids and enjoy the spirit of the holiday? There’s plenty going on in the lakes area. Below is a compilation of Halloween activities found in Marshall County as submitted by organizers (list will be updated as submissions continue):
Wednesday, Oct. 25
- Rosebower Baptist Church will host trunk-or-treat activities beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the church at 1120 Tyree Road in Paducah. The event is free and open to the public.
- Hardin Baptist Church will host a trunk-or-treat at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the church on U.S. Hwy. 641 in Hardin. The event is free and open to the public.
- First Baptist Church in Benton and First Missionary Baptist in Benton will partner to host a community trunk-or-treat from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. The event is open to the public.
Friday, Oct. 27
South Marshall Elementary School will host a fall festival from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at the school on 155 Sid Darnall Road. Chili supper and “pie the principal” will begin at 5 p.m., and Bingo begins at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 28
- St. Pius X will host its first-ever fall festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Calvert City Civic Center. A lunch buffet of barbecue or chicken will be available, and there will be games and prizes. A raffle drawing for prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 will be drawn. The public is invited to attend.
- Area church organizations will host a trunk-or-treat event from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Hardin Community Center. The event is free and open to the public.
- Walnut Grove Church of Christ will host its Haunted Hallways event Saturday, Oct. 28 at the church at 85 Walnut Grove Road in Benton. Trick-or-Treating will begin at 5 p.m.; chili supper will begin at 6 p.m.; other activities include a hot dog roast and hayride. The public is invited to attend.
- Southland Baptist Temple will host its Kidz trunk-or-treat from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the church at 927 Yarbro Lane in Paducah.
- Charlie Nelson Trucking and Excavatings will host its seventh annual trunk-or-treat beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the business located at 1833 Benton-Briensburg Road in Benton. Activities include a chili supper, inflatables, hayrides and treats.
- Twin Lakes Worship Center will host trunk-or-treat events from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the center at Hwy. 641, across from Catfish Kitchen in Draffenville. The event is open to the public.
- Briensburg Church of Christ will host a trunk-or-treat with food, treats and kids games at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the church. The event is open to the public.
Sunday, Oct. 29
- Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1530 East Unity Church Road in Hardin will have a “Fall Festival” at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. Hot dogs and chili supper, lots of games and prizes for the kids, cake walk and more. The event is free and open to the public.
- Kentucky Lake Missions will host a trunk-or-treat event Sunday, Oct. 29 at 5570 Moors Camp Hwy. in Gilbertsville. The event will begin with a chili and hotdog supper at 4 p.m. followed by treats at 5:30 p.m.
- Riverwoods Church will host its RiverFest fall festival from 10 a. m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 on the court square in Benton. Activities include a costume parade, games and treats.
- Benton First United Methodist Church will host its Boo Bash 3.0 trunk-or-treat from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at the church at 845 U.S. Hwy. 641 Spur in Benton. Activities will include hayrides and trunk-or-treating. Burgers on Wheels will provide goodies, and hot dogs, candy and popcorn will be available. The event is open to the public.
- Olive Baptist Church will host a trunk-or-treat event, with inflatables, games and a chili supper from 5-6:30 p.m. at the church at 4611 Olive-Hamlett Road. The public is invited to attend.
- New Bethel Baptist Church will host a fall festival from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at the church at 4045 Mayfield Hwy. in Benton. For more information or to RSVP, call 270-527-3787.
Monday, Oct. 30
Community Alternatives of Kentucky will host its first-ever trunk-or-treat event from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at 102 Caky Drive in Benton.
Tuesday, Oct. 31
- The Marshall County Rescue Squad will host its Halloween Safe Stop from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Squad Building at 201 Ash St. in Benton. Treats and door prizes will be given to those 10 and younger.
- New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church will host a trunk-or-treat beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the church located on 4817 Symsonia Hwy. in Benton.
- The City of Benton trick-or-treating hours will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31 throughout the city. Curfew for those younger than 18 is 10 p.m.
- Calvert City trick-or-treating hours will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31 throughout the city. Curfew for those younger than 18 is 10 p.m.
- Calvert City United Methodist Church will host a trunk-or-treat beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the church at 571 Oak Park Boulevard in Calvert City. The event is free and open to the public.
- Zion’s Cause Baptist Church will host Treat Night from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the church at 1532 U.S. Hwy. 68 West, Benton. The event is open to the public.
- Pathway Baptist Church will host a trunk-or-treat beginning at 5 p.m.at the church at 229 W. 5th Avenue in Calvert City. The event is open to the public.
- VFW Post No. 1084 will host its Boo Fest 2017 with candy, popcorn and games from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the post at 4166 Egners Ferry Road in Benton. The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome to attend.
- St. Pius X will give out free hot dogs and hot chocolate beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the church in Calvert City.
- South Marshall Fire Department will host its annual Halloween Safe Stop from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at both the Aurora Ross building at 8280 Aurora Hwy., Hardin, and the Hardin station at 171 2nd St. in Hardin. Safe stops will offer free hot dogs, chili, snacks and drinks, and treats will be available for the kids. The event is free and open to the public.
- Bethel Baptist Church will host a trunk-0r-treat event beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the church at 2603 Tatumsville Hwy. The public is invited to attend.
