Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton visited with Central Elementary School students Monday as part of the Bluegrass Buddies book tour, which promotes literacy and the joy of reading in Kentucky schools.
Hampton has visited more than 100 schools since her election in 2015. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, and Hampton spoke at length about a number of topics, including how government works, her childhood in the inner city of Detroit and her service in the Air Force.
Joan Travis organized Monday’s event at Central in conjunction with the Central Elementary student council.
