Homer Burnett

Homer Wesley Burnett, 85 of Calvert City, KY died on Wednesday, October 18 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Ky surrounded by his loving family.

Homer was born on May 4th 1932 in Rising Sun, IL. He was the son of the late Guy and Viola Burris Burnett. He was a Korean War veteran and retired over the road truck driver.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Aud Burnett of Calvert City, KY; two sons Raymond Burnett and girlfriend Theresa Clifton, Danny Burnett and his wife Tina; one daughter Sherry Smith all of Calvert City, KY; mother in law Violet Veach of McLeansboro, IL; one sister Letha Ninness of Crossville, IL; two grandsons, Brent Smith and girlfriend Michele Johnston of Hardin, KY, Wesley Burnett and wife Mandy of Calvert City, KY; eight great grandchildren, Vanessa Smith, Phillip Smith, Aaliyah Smith all of Calvert City, KY, Colson Burnett, Cameron Burnett, Carson Burnett all of Benton, KY, Taylor Driver and husband Sebastian of Benton, Ky, Payton Johnston of Hardin, KY; one great great grandson Parker Driver of Benton, KY.

He is preceded in death his parents, four brothers, Frank Burnett, Guy Charles Burnett, Christopher Burnett, Henry Burnett; five sisters, Mary Felty, Ruby Large, Pauline Bell, Jenny Holland, Verna Faye Burnett; daughter Kathy Ann Burnett Owens; three grandchildren, Christy Burnett, Keith Burnett, Brad Smith.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY with Rev. Doug Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Friday, October 20 2017 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
