Boys take third at Owensboro’s Fast Cats Classic

Mason Cosner finished 10th at the Fast Cats Classic to help lead the Marshals team effort in their third place finish.
Alexia Minter’s 25th place finish was best among the Marshall County girl’s team.

It was a good day for the Marshall County boy’s cross country team Saturday at Owensboro’s Fast Cats Classic at Yellow Creek Park. The Marshals finished third, behind first place Covington Catholic and second place Montgomery Bell Academy in a competitive field of 27 teams and 344 runners.

Hunter Kurz of Daviess County took the win in 16:17.60. The best finish for the Marshals came from Mason Cosner in 10th in 17:12.46. Christian Cosner finished 19th and Samuel Lanham 24th, to finish three in the top 25.

A small contingent of Lady Marshals competed in the field of 230, taking 14th among 23 teams and were led by Alexia Minter who finished 25th in 21:19.00. Maddy Moody of Anderson County took first in 18:55.07. Daviess County took the team title, second went to North Oldham and third to Harpeth Hall School.

The team will compete on Saturday in the McCracken County Invitational at Stuart Nelson Park.
