The Lady Marshals played their final regular season game Tuesday at home against McCracken County, wrapping things up nicely before tournament play begins with a 6-0 shut out over the Lady Mustangs. The win moves them to 12-7-1 and they will be the number one seed in next week’s 2nd District Tournament at Graves County.

Less than five minutes in, Carmen Gunn scored the first of her three goals in the game off an assist from Lindy King. Gunn’s goal was followed two minutes later by a goal from Bailey Wood. Wood again at 14:22 in the first half on an assist by Kylee Crass and Gunn made it 4-0 at halftime with a goal at 9:13.
Twenty-eight minutes into the second half, Kylee Crass made it a 5-0 game with the final goal coming at 9:32 left in the game by Gunn for the hat-trick with the assist to Wood.
“Proud of the girls…hopefully this isn’t the last game here for the seniors but I’m proud of the effort and the season as a whole”, Coach Michael Boone said. “We’ve got a great group of girls.”
A district tournament championship would put the Lady Marshals in a position to host the regional tournament.
The Lady Marshals will play the winner of the Calloway County/Mayfield on October 10th at 5:30 in the 2nd District Tournament. The winner of that game will move on to the championship game on October 12th at 5:30.
