Mrs. Shelby Hurt, age 79 of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at her home. She was a member of Christian Fellowship and was a retired nurse for the Marshall County Health Department.
Born Friday, April 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Irvan and the late Jean (Mohler) Irvan.
Surviving are sons, Michael Hurt of Dalton, GA and Steve Hurt of Benton, KY; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Earl Hurt, and daughter, Phyllis Jean (Hurt) Lopez.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. J.T Parrish and Rev. Richie Clendenen.
Interment will follow in the Goshen Cemetery, Stella, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home.
