Marshall County soccer celebrated Senior Night Tuesday at Colburn Stadium, honoring 12 Lady Marshals and Marshals seniors with a sweep of Mayfield.
The boy’s team took the field first, winning 6-0 with goals from Daniel Gardner, Parking Jennings and four straight from Austin Stockdale. The girl’s won 10-0, getting goals from Elizabeth Castleberry, Camryn Crass, Whitley Wadwood, Kylee Crass, Carmen Gunn, Pamela Ross and four by Bailey Wood.
The Marshals improve to 9-6-1 and the Lady Marshals to 8-4-1 and they will play a district double-header on Thursday at Calloway County.
The seniors, escorted by their parents, were honored between the games with a special recognition for Abbie Swoope, daughter of Tyler and Annie Swoope. Abbie, who had a love for soccer, would have been a senior this year. She passed away suddenly at the age of nine on March 24, 2008.
