Mr. Larry G. Edwards, 73, of Benton, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Continue Care Hospital of Baptist Health in Paducah.
Born Friday, October 8, 1943 in Brookport, Ill., he was the son of the late Willie Edwards and the late Betty (Clapp) Edwards. He was member and past commander of the William A. Doyle American Legion Post 236 in Calvert City and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Regnia “Rickie” (Bell) Edwards of Benton; daughters, Anita Bruce of Benton, Jodie (Roger) Phelps of Gilbertsville, Vickie (Michael) Edwards of Pryorsburg and BJ (Kyle) Proffitt of Marion; brothers, Ruble (Mary) Edwards of Las Vegas, Nev., Randal Edwards and Tommy (Debbie) Edwards, both of Ledbetter; sisters, Wanda Lane of Brookport, Ill., and Betty Jean (David Earl) Inglish of Possum Trot; 12 grandchildren; Hope, Beth, Charlie, Michael, Laken, Hunter, Caitlin, Koda, Moriah, Christian, Jordan and
Braden; 12 great-grandchildren; Kaden Savannah, Mikey, Hadley, Karlee, Josh, Sophie, Clayton, Killian, Armani, Emillia and Maylee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Newman Edwards, Billy Edwards, David Lee Edwards, Vernon Edwards, Darold Edwards and Butchie Edwards, sisters, Geraldine Edwards and Shirley Duncan.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton. Rev. Matt Vinnie Jackson will officiate.
Graveside with military honors will follow the service in the Wyatt Cemetery, Kirksey.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at the Collier Funeral Home, 211 W. 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
