County contracts with company to implement CodeRED

Marshall County has implemented the Onsolve/CodeRED emergency notification system.

The Onsolve/CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the Marshall County’s emergency planning and communications outreach to both citizens and staff. The system sends telephone calls, text messages and emails to inform residents to better protect life and property. Onsolve/CodeRED was selected for its reliability and accuracy, as well as the system’s wide spread adoption rates across the U.S.

According to a statement issued from Marshall County Emergency Management, “Onsolve/CodeRED’s robust notification system will provide Marshall County officials with a reliable, easy-to-use interface to quickly deliver critical information to our citizens during emergencies. We are eager to use this innovative technology to enhance our emergency preparedness plans. We anticipate using the system to notify residents of Missing Persons/Children, Evacuation Notices, Natural Disasters, Boil Water Advisories, Inclement Weather Warnings, Road Closures, Traffic Alerts, Shelter in Place/Lockdowns and more.”

OnSolve/Code Red has provided Marshall County an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers; however, all residents living within Marshall County limits are encouraged to visit www.marshallcountyky.gov to enroll their contact information including cellphone numbers, text and email addresses. No one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database.
