On August 21, 2017, the Christian Fellowship student body gathered outside in preparation for the once-in-a-lifetime total eclipse. The air was filled with chatter, laughter, and songs. Inside each one of us there was a joy-a satisfaction-from being together which only grew with anticipation.
Finally, the sky began to dim as the moon slowly masked the sun. At last, darkness infiltrated what had once been a sun-lit field, and as we looked up to the sky, it was not the awe of this once in a lifetime phenomenal event that amazed us, but the underlying fact that we were united together, and in the words of CFS Principle Bill Rowley, “… we got to experience it together, and I think it meant more that way.” What other school would allow an event such as this to take place with both the student body and faculty and staff standing together as one entity, as one family, and as one body of Christ?
