County residents will soon join communities in the ranks of expediting emergency notifications.
In an effort to enhance community awareness and public safety, the Marshall County Fiscal Court will soon be implementing CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification service. This is a free service to citizens of Marshall County, and will serve as the backbone of Marshall County’s emergency planning and communications outreach program.
CodeRED is a system that allows the residents to quickly receive emergency information by way of text messages, emails and automated telephone calls. This system will be used to keep the public informed in the event of an emergency, such as severe weather, drinking water emergencies, missing persons and more.
The court voted in July to initiate the service in county. The service is free, and information collected will not be shared with any third party company.
All residents of Marshall County may sign up for the service by visiting the CodeRED website. Residents who are already a member of the CodeRED program offered by Calvert City do not need to register again.
