Communities across western Kentucky are finalizing plans for this weekend as the Great American Solar Eclipse approaches. Businesses and organizations in Cadiz have prepared for the event, which will take place Monday, Aug. 21, as well.

Live Music at The Cabin Coffee & Café’ featuring Eddie Pennington, The “H” Jazz Band, Jamboree Bluegrass Band, and a special appearance from Kala Dunn & Sean Maestan. Music begins at 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17.
Friday, Aug. 18
Cadiz Lion’s Club Golf Tournament – two person scramble at Arrowhead Golf Course
“Zombie Run /Walk “– Trigg County Hospital Foundation; registration begins at 7 p.m., event set for 8 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 19
“Solar Cycle Bike Ride” – Benefits Genesis Express. Registration begins at 6 a.m.; ride begins at 7 a.m. – 91 Industrial Drive in Cadiz – (24 mile ride – not a race).
Art in the Park – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Yellow Train Stop Park. Benefits Trigg County Historical Society
“Eclipse Cosmic Car Show “– Cadiz Baptist Church Annex Parking Lot. Registration starts at noon. Cost $15 per entry as a donation to Helping Hands of Cadiz.
Climbing Wall and Human Gyro – 3-7 p.m. at the Trigg County Justice Center parking lot in downtown Cadiz.
Music along Main Street – “Buskers on the Corners” 4-7 p.m.
Lake Barkley State Resort Park hosts the West Kentucky Astronomers Association – 8 p.m. Educational program then “Star Party”.
Outdoor Movie “American Graffiti” – Renaissance Stage Parking lot; shown on Purple Pigs wall.

Sunday, Aug. 20: Lights Out Festival, 4-8 p.m. in Downtown Cadiz
The city will have three separate musical venues. The Blue Heron Stage will be host to “Kentucky Bluegrass,” The Renaissance Stage will be hosting “Instant Zeal” and inside at the Lakeland Jamboree organizers will host 43 RPM, a 50s Doo-Wop show.
Lake Barkley State Resort Park – 2 p.m. will have an educational program on eclipses.
