A local man is facing charges after a Sunday crash left a passenger in his car injured.
According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, emergency responders were dispatched Sunday to the intersection of Aurora Highway and Olive Creek Road in response to a single-car crash. Deputies say investigation revealed that Wesley Henson, 31, of Hardin, was driving his vehicle in the area when his vehicle veered off the road and struck a creek bed.
Henson was allegedly under the influence at the time of the crash.
A passenger in his car, Tammy Morefield, was taken to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah via Marshall County EMS for treatment of injuries.
Henson was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital where he was treated and released to deputies, who took him to Marshall County Detention Center on suspicion of aggravated DUI and first-degree wanton endangerment.
The investigation remains ongoing.
MCSD accident reconstructionists, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Rescue Squad and South Marshall Fire Department assisted deputies on scene.
