Saturday at Pennyrile State Park golf course, the Marshall County boy’s team played in the Dawson Springs Invitational, a field of fifteen boy’s teams mostly from Regions 1 and 2. The Marshals won the tournament with a team score of 310 led by tournament medalist Jay Nimmo who carded a 4-under par 68. Owensboro’s Iralane placed second behind Nimmo with a 1-under 71 and Henderson County’s Clement was third with a 1-over 73.

Team scores for the Marshals following Nimmo came from Tyler Powell with 78, Grant Hackney 80, Nathan Clark 84 and Camdyn McLeod 88.
“I thought our players came out focused to start the tournament today”, Coach Keith Bell said. “Jay Nimmo played well today especially during a stretch on back nine where he had three or four birdies in a row. I thought Tyler Powell and Grant Hackney played well today also. Nathan Clark had a good day, which was triggered by a chip in birdie on his first hole.”
“This team supports each other and wants the team to succeed”, Bell added. “We’ll continue to work hard on our short game which should reap benefits to our players goals during the regular season.”
This week the Marshals will play a match Monday against Livingston Central at Deer Lake Golf Course, Thursday at Kentucky Dam State Park Golf Course against Graves County and Saturday in the Paducah Invitational Tournament at Paxton Park Golf Course.
