Lady Marshals shut out Caldwell County in pre-season scrimmage

The 2017 season began for the Lady Marshals soccer team on Thursday with a home scrimmage against Caldwell County. Leading 3-0 at halftime, first half goals came from sophomore Carmen Gunn with the first two and Camryn Crass with the third.

Sophomore Carlen Whirley will take care of goal-keeping duties for the Lady Marshals this season.

Kylee Crass scored in the second half and Gunn finished out the game with a hat trick third goal for the 5-0 win over the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Marshals have seven seasoned seniors on this year’s squad, led by 2016 All-District Tournament and All-Region 1st team selection Camryn Crass, as well as All-Region 2nd team selections junior Kylee Crass and sophomore Carmen Gunn and sophomores Sofia Bayer and Loralei Samson who earned Honorable Mention.

Head Coach Michael Boone has three assistant coaches this season in Andy Pagel, Tanner Reed and Savana Smothers.

They will play a second scrimmage August 8th at University Heights Academy before the season opener at defending 1st Region Champion Graves County on August 14th.
