Girl’s team takes first at South Warren Invitational

Marshall County girls golf team took first Thursday in Bowling Green at the South Warren Invitational at Crosswinds Golf Course with a score of 312 and with good scores turned in by all players, they believe they may have set a new team record score.

Hallie Riley shot a 2-under 69 at Crosswinds to earn medalist honors.

Hallie Riley’s score of 69 and Megan Hertter with a 76 was exceptional play from the two Lady Marshals. Riley’s 2-under earned her medalist honors of the tournament. Savannah Howell shot 79, Kenley Luksic 88 and Kennadi Spraggs 89 to round out the rest of the team scores.

Also on Thursday, four Lady Marshals played at Calvert City Country Club in a match against Murray. Murray won 167 to Marshall’s 223, and were led by Delaney Welsh with 41 and three 42’s shot by Claire Whitaker, Alexis Hardin and Mary Browder Howell. Sydney Phillips led the Marshall County girls with a nine-hole score of 44, Katie Stokes shot 54, Laney Hoskins 62 and Elsie Riley 63.

Their next match will be August 10th against Graves County at the Kentucky Dam State Park Golf Course.
