Mike Miller Park is preparing to accommodate the influx of visitors surrounding the upcoming total solar eclipse.

The park announced this weekend it would block off reservation space for campsites for visitors who hope to pitch a tent and stay for the show. The sites, designated at 20×20 feet can be reserved for up to the entire weekend, and will be limited to two people per site, though a release issued by the park said additional campers may be added to a site at $5 per night. Campsites are specifically for tent camping purposes and will be available from Aug. 18-21 in the park.

Reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis at $35 for one night, $55 for two or $75 for the entire weekend. Payment is due at the time of reservation.

Campers will have access to portable toilets, however no other amenities will be provided. Park security will be onsite for the duration of the weekend.

While the park will be charging for overnight campsites, entrance to the park will be free and open to the publicon the day of the eclipse: Monday, Aug. 21. According to the park release, pavilions and facilities would be open to all in attendance. Once the park reaches capacity, however, no more viewers will be admitted.
