UPDATE: KY 1949/Wadesboro Road is closed at milepoint 7.45 due to a washout at the Smith Creek Bridge. This is along KY 1949 immediately north of the Purchase Parkway Underpass Tunnel.
Flash flooding due to intense localized rainfall has damaged the roadway near the bridge. The roadway has been barricaded and blocked with millings.
Due to additional rainfall expected on Sunday, it is likely to be Monday before engineers will be able to evaluate the roadway damage at this site and plan repairs.
