Abby Fiessinger just completed her freshman year at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee, as a member of the Lady Eagles softball team. The 2015 Region One Player of the Year still holds several records as a member of the Marshall County High School softball team – highest season batting average, highest on-base percentage, most hits in a season, most doubles in a season and most RBI’s in a season.

Abby has continued her success at Carson-Newman, recently earning All-American honors at second base, just the second player in program history to do so.

Abby hit .398 her freshman season, the sixth highest average in the South Atlantic Conference. She hit 10 home runs this season – a team high, five triples, 72 base hits and had 38 RBI’s. Abby began the season with an 18-game hitting streak, fourth longest in program history.

The All-American honor was not the only one she received this season, earning D2CCA All-Region First Team, NFCA All-Region Second Team and All-SAC Honorable Mention.

After winning the South Atlantic Conference tournament, the Lady Eagles season ended in the NCAA Southeast Regional, finishing with a record of 43-13.
