
A 72-year-old Livingston County man is facing rape and sodomy charges after Kentucky State Police say he engaged in sexual conduct with a minor.
According to a KSP statement to media, Lester Carender Jr. of Grand Rivers was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday, May 26 and charged with first-degree rape of a victim younger than 12. Carender also faces two felony charges of second-degree rape, victim younger than 12; first-degree sodomy, victim younger than 12; first-degree sexual abuse, victim younger than 12; first-degree sexual abuse; and firearm enhanced charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
KSP reports say between 2014 and 2017, Carender continued sexual conduct with a person incapable of consent due to age. KSP began its investigation in January. Police reportedly searched his home in April during the course of the investigation and found marijuana, paraphernalia and numerous firearms, resulting in the drug charges.
