(Benton, KY)-CFSB is proud to announce the recipients of annual scholarships to
students at Christian Fellowship School and Marshall County High School.
The annual CFS Eagle Scholar is a scholarship awarded from CFSB to a student at
Christian Fellowship School meeting certain criteria including, but not limited to,
grade-point average, college entrance exam scores, class rank and community/church
activities.
The 2016-2017 CFS Eagle Scholar is Anna Rebekah Lewis, daughter of James and Deborah
Lewis. Anna has been active as the Secretary with the Bible Club, Beta Club, DECA
Club and German Club. She has also been on the Student Council (Vice President),
Homecoming Court representative and Red and Gold award winner for highest GPA on the
CFS Track team. Anna was the Varsity Cheerleading Captain her Junior and Senior
years and coached the elementary cheerleaders. She has volunteered with Marcella’s
Kitchen and Blood River Baptist Association. She has been active with Christian
Fellowship’s Children’s Church and Nursery. Her plans are to attend West Kentucky
Community and Technical College and major in Elementary Education.
The Marshall County High School Scholarship Scoreboard is a scholarship awarded to
recipients meeting certain criteria including, but not limited to, grade-point
average, college entrance exam scores, class rank and extra-curricular activities.
The dollar amount of this scholarship involves the culmination of monies being added
up for every Marshall County Football First Down ($4), Marshall County Soccer Goals
($5), Marshall County Basketball Three Point Shots ($3) and Kasasa K’s (Strikeouts
by MCHS Pitchers) in Baseball and Softball ($3) as advertised during athletic events
aired on WCBL/WCCK Radio. The total is then divided into four scholarship
categories-Academic Female, Athletic Female, Academic Male and Athletic Male.
The 2016-2017 MCHS Scoreboard Scholarship recipients are:
Girls Academic: Victoria Howe, daughter of Timothy and Cynthia Howe. Victoria has
been active with the Science Olympiad, Spanish Club and the FOCUS Christian Club.
She has been named to the Honor Roll, has volunteered with Operation Christmas Child
and taught Oboe instrument lessons. Victoria has been a Vacation Bible School song
and group leader and a member of her church’s youth group. Her plans are to
continue her education at West Kentucky Community and Technical College or Murray
State University majoring in Nursing.
Girls Athletic: Alexandria Terrell, daughter of Timothy Terrell and Micki and David
French. Ally has been a member of the Marshall County Lady Marshals Basketball team
as the Head Manager. She has been a member of HOSA, Rotary/Interact Club, Prom
Committee and the Yearbook Committee. Ally is Adult and Pediatric CPR Certified.
She has volunteered for the Relay for Life Fashion Show and the Lady Marshals
Basketball Camp. She is a member of North Marshall Church of Christ. Ally plans to
attend Murray State University and major in Biology and minor in Chemistry
(Pre-Med).
Boys Academic: Jarrett Radcliffe, son of Leslie and Michael Radcliffe. Jarrett has
been active with the French Club (Vice President), Beta Club and TSA. He was the
Captain of the Quick Recall MCHS Academic Team. Jarrett was named an AP Scholar
award winner and he was a Governor’s Scholar. He has volunteered with the Marshall
County Humane Society, the Marshall County Color Run and has been a French tutor.
He is active with the First Baptist Church of Calvert City’s Youth Group and he
plays Church League Basketball. Jarrett’s plans are to attend the University of
Louisville and major in Finance.
Boys Athletic: Skyler Sharp, son of Wendell and Rhonda Sharp. Skyler has been a
member of the Marshals Football and Soccer Teams. He has been in Marshall Militia
(General), Student Council (Vice President) and Rotary/Interact Club
(President-Elect). Skyler has been involved with Sunrise Children’s Services, a
church mission trip to a Native American Reservation in Montana and church league
basketball. He plans to attend the University of Louisville and major in Psychology.
CFSB also congratulates the winner of the annual Star Bank Scholarship. This student
must have participated in the Financial Services Class at MCHS, taught by Rebecca
Phelps and sponsored by CFSB. Star Bank, in its 26th year of operation, is the
student-run bank at Marshall County High School. In order to receive this
scholarship, the student must show terrific leadership skills in this hands-on
class. This year’s Star Bank Scholarship goes to Houston Harvey, son of Chris and
Darlene Harvey. He was the Chief Executive Officer for Star Bank. He was also a
member of the Marshals Football team and Captain of the Marshals Basketball team.
Houston will attend the University of Kentucky and major in Pre-Law/Political
Science with a minor in Business.
