Man charged after fleeing police

Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Luke Rudd were dispatched about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21 to U.S. Highway 68 West in reference to a man walking through the area, approaching houses, making obscene gestures to passing motorists, and yelling at people. Greenfield located the individual and began to investigate. The man, identified as Jeremy Don Hicks, 38 of Hardin, became agitated and became threatening toward officers and others.

Greenfield attempted to take the suspect into custody. A short foot pursuit ensued. Hicks was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police first degree – on foot, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct second degree, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief third degree. 

A homeowner in the area assisted Greenfield in making the arrest. Greenfield was also assisted by Marshall County EMS on the scene.
