Calvert City man flown to Evansville after motorcycle crash; deputies serve warrants

A Calvert City man was airlifted to Evansville following a Wednesday morning single vehicle motorcycle crash.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports, Daniel Porter, 46, of Calvert City was driving toward Benton on Benton Birmingham Road about 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, when his motorcycle lost control as it crossed over a bridge and left the roadway. Porter was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken to Marshall County Hospital, where he was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

His condition was unknown as of Friday.

MCSD was assisted onscene by Marshall County EMS, Benton Police Department, Benton Fire Department and Air Evac.

Marshall County sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-car crash at 8:11 a.m. Friday on Houser Road near Benton. According to MCSD reports, Mercedes M. Stufflebeam,18, of Benton was driving south on Houser Road when the vehicle dipped off the right shoulder. Stufflebeam overcorrected, sending the car off the left side of the road and into a tree.

Stufflebeam was taken by private vehicle for medical care.

A Hopkinsville man was served an indictment and arrest warrant Thursday in Marshall County.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports, about 3:15 p.m. Thursday, deputies served Dustin R. Frazier, 24, of Hopkinsville with an arrest warrant for allegedly failing to appear in Christian County Circuit Court. Frazier was also served an indictment warrant stemming from Marshall County charges of DUI, first offense; possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense; no operator’s license; possession of drug paraphernalia; failureof non-owner to maintain required insurance; and first-degree wanton endangerment.
