Mr. Woodrow E. Blackwell, age 76 of Benton, KY died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. He was a retired Ironworker for the Local #782 out of Paducah, KY where he started his career in 1958. He was a member of the Elks Club #2707 and the VFW Auxiliary. He was of the Baptist faith.
Born Saturday, September 28, 1940 in East Prairie, MO, he was the son of the late Virgil LaRue Blackwell and the late Pearl Elizabeth (Mims) Blackwell.
Surviving are daughter, Lisa Holt, significant other Britt Cone of Benton, KY, loving companion, Joyce Dismore of Benton, KY, daughter at heart, Kim Dotson, husband Tim of Calvert City, KY, brother, Billy Blackwell, wife Colleen of Mayfield, KY, sister, Marilyn Rubenacker, husband Mark of Paducah, KY, grandson, Colby Cameron Holt, partner Sam Probst of Los Angeles, CA, grandson at heart, Bob Cone of Benton, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Virgil Ray Blackwell.
A visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Benton, KY 42025.
No funeral services are scheduled.
