VERDA R. BEDWELL, 77, of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away at 7:25PM on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Verda was a hard worker her entire life, and she was the former bookkeeper for Gary’s Food Mart. She was a member of Holly Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Karen Dykes and her husband Rick of Calvert City, KY, John Peck of Hopkinsville, KY, Steve Peck and his wife Ginger of Calvert City, KY, Tamara Smith and her husband Rob of Murfreesboro, TN, Rhonda King and her husband Reece of Paducah, KY and Brian Bedwell and his wife Robin of Benton, KY; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Connie Bebout of Calvert City, KY.
Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Boyd Bedwell; three brothers, Alton E. Greer, Fred Greer and Clint Greer; and four sisters, Loujean Stevenson, Coleen Egner, Clara Don Pace and Pauline Hammonds. Her parents were Raymond Greer and Virgil Moore Greer.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 at the Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Bro Duane Holland and Bro. John Bedwell will officiate and burial will follow in the Leonard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
