DRAFFENVILLE – Seated with her family with two shirts on the table in front of her, Murray State University and University of Central Arkansas, Hannah Langhi made her decision known Tuesday when she put on the UCA t-shirt where she will continue her basketball career with the Sugar Bears.
Located in Conway, Arkansas, the Sugar Bears finished the 2016-17 season with a 26-5 record, 16-2 in the Southland Conference and were a #14 seed in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament losing in the opening round to University of Texas.

Hannah said it came down to Murray State and University of Central Arkansas, but that UCA stood out above the rest. Hannah said it was tempting to stay close to home and go to Murray but felt the distance to UCA would be good for her and a chance to get out of her dad’s shadow and stand on her own.
“There are only six girls returning on the team next year and I met all of them and the coaches and just felt right at home”, Hannah said. “I felt like this is where I can see myself.”
Hannah said it was a hard decision between the two programs and talked a lot with Coach Rachelle Turner at Murray State saying “she will do great things at there”.
Hannah said she had talks with Arkansas State and the two programs are similar and that Coach Joseph Simmons, a graduate of Arkansas State, was instrumental in sending film and talking to the coaches at UCA.
The list of Hannah’s career stats and accomplishments is long, starting with her 1,545 career points as a Lady Marshal. In 130 games, she picked up 1,044 rebounds which made her the second player in program history to score over 1,500 points and record 1,000 rebounds and is the 7th all-time leading scorer.
Hannah recorded over her high school career, 338 deflections, 222 steals, 179 assists, 160 blocked shots, 35 double-doubles, a 49% field goal average and 62.2% free throw average.
Hannah helped lead the Lady Marshals over the past four years to a 102-33 record, a Sweet 16 State Quarter Final appearance in 2014, Region and District Championships in 2014.
In 2015, 2016 and 2017, she was selected to the All-District Tournament and All-Purchase Teams and selected to the All-Regionals Team in 2017. In 2016, Hannah was a Kentucky Junior All-Star selection, AP All-State Honorable Mention and in 2017 the All-Purchase Player of the Year, KBAC Region 1 Player of the Year, Miss Kentucky Basketball Candidate, Kentucky/Ohio All Star, KABC East/West All Star, Courier Journal 2nd Team All-State and Lexington Herald-Leader 3rd Team All-State.
Hannah plans to pursue a medical degree and attend medical school.
