Francis Palmer “Butch” Nix, 76, of Benton, died Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Mr. Nix was a retired service tech for Xerox and a Marine Corp Veteran serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was the son of the late Benson Nix and the late Frances Elizabeth (Chandler) Nix. He is survived by his wife: Naomi Paulette (Morris) Nix of Benton; one son, Steven Palmer Nix of Benton; three daughters, Cheryl Fennel of Calvert City, Vicki Boatright of Benton, Holly Nix of Gilbertsville; two brothers, Emmett Albert Nix and Ed Nix, both of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Barbra Greenfield of Princeton and Nancy Norrington of Evansville, Ind., 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, where the family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Funeral service will be held at Collier Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017, with Brenda Adamson and Harold Greenfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton.
