Two Marshall County High School students were selected for this year’s Governor’s School for the Arts, and two more were chosen as alternates, according to the Kentucky Center website.

Tessa Northcutt and Haley Ford were among 256 students selected to attend the summer program from June 18 through July 8 at Centre College in Danville. Some 1,400 Kentucky students applied for this year’s program; of those applicants, 650 were qualified to present their work in person for the honor.

Northcutt was selected for her work in drama; Ford was selected in visual arts.

Alyssa Hubbard and Russell Edwards, also MCHS students, were both chosen as alternates in creative writing.
