
BOWLING GREEN – A four game win streak has put the Lady Marshals back above .500 with a record of 11-10 after picking up two wins on Saturday in the Greenwood Border Battle. They beat Logan County 14-2 in their noon game and followed that up with a 3-2 walk-off win over Greenwood.
A 5-run second inning put the Lady Marshals in control early in their 14-2 win over Logan County. The five runs were scored on singles by McKenzie Tack and Payton Smothers, 2-run single by Gracey Murt and a single by Lexee Miller. They added three more runs in the third inning on a double from Cayson Conner and sacrifice fly by Murt for an 8-0 lead.
One more in the fourth inning came on a single by Kaycee Kemp before finishing the game off in a 5-run sixth inning on a single by Conner, sacrifice fly by Kaycee Kemp, ground out by Tack and 2-run double by Murt, rounding out their 18 hits in the game. Shelby Wadkins got the win on the mound in six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs.

In their second game of the Greenwood Border Battle, Marshall County and Greenwood were tied 2-2 after six innings. Greenwood put two runners on base in the top of the seventh but weren’t able to capitalize, leaving both stranded.
Payton Smothers led off the inning for the Lady Marshals in the bottom of the seventh with a single and Miller walked putting two on base when Addie Young stepped up to hit a walk-off single for the 3-2 win.
Gabbi Lovett got the win in seven innings on the mound, allowing six hits and two runs.
The Lady Marshals scheduled home game tonight against McCracken County has been cancelled due to weather and they are scheduled to play a district game at Murray on Tuesday.
