Lady Eagles 3-3 heading into a break from play next week

Abigail Cima hit a double and a triple, batting in one run in the Lady Eagles game against Mayfield.

After their first six games of the season, the Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles are 3-3 with wins coming over Fulton County and two wins over Fort Campbell. Their season began with a 10-0 loss to Livingston Central in five innings. Their three hits in the game came from Edie Little, Abbie Fletcher and Caitlyn Ivy. Allison Doyle was the winning pitcher for Livingston Central, allowing three hits and no runs and they were led at the plate by Hailey Stiles who was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI’s.

Maddie Ortt will cover the majority of the pitching duties this season for the Lady Eagles.

In their second game of the season, CFS beat Fulton County 17-0 in four innings on six hits and 10 errors by the Lady Pilots. CFS scored nine runs in the third inning and seven in the fourth. Maddie Ortt got her first win of the season on the mound, allowing just two hits in the shut out win. Little led the Lady Eagles at the plate going 3 for 4 with four RBI’s.

CFS lost to Mayfield 5-4 in five innings. Both teams scored two runs in the first inning and two in the fourth inning. Tied 4-4, Mayfield added a run in the fifth inning for the one run win on nine hits. Abigail Cima was 2 for 3 at the plate for the Lady Eagles, with a double and RBI.

March 23rd against University Heights, the Lady Eagles fell 13-5. The Lady Blazers scored runs in each of the first five innings. CFS was led at the plate by Ortt who went 2 for 3 with three RBI’s and Caitlyn Ivy who was 2 for 4. University Heights batters combined for 12 hits in the win.

Last Friday at Fort Campbell, CFS played a double-header, winning both games by identical scores of 19-4. The first game was over in four innings with the Lady Eagles scoring three runs in the first, two in the second, eight in the third and six in the fourth. Top hitters were Cima who went 2 for 4 with a triple and four RBI’s and Fletcher who was 2 for 2 with four RBI’s. Ortt pitched 3.1 innings allowing four hits and two runs. Jaycie Jackson finished out the game, allowing two hits and two runs.

The second game of the double-header was over in three innings after CFS scored 16 runs in the second inning and three in the third for the 19-4 win. All nine Lady Eagle batters brought in runs led by Little who was 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI’s. Caitlyn Ivy pitched all three innings, allowing four hits and four runs.

CFS will play next on April 11th in the Region 1 All ‘A’ Classic at Carlisle County against Ballard Memorial.
