Christian Fellowship softball kicked off the 2017 season March 4th with two scrimmages against Trigg County and Murray. The Lady Eagles are coming off their best season in program history last year finishing with a record of 14-12 under Head Coach Trevor Jackson.
A very young squad will be led by senior Abbie Fletcher and juniors Maddie Ortt, Emily Courtney and Maddie Hatton and making up the rest of the roster are three sophomores, six freshman, four eighth graders and 3 seventh graders.
The Lady Eagles fell to Trigg County 20-1, falling behind early in the first inning 8-1. CFS was led by sophomore Rachel Howard who was 2 for 3 at the plate, bringing in the Lady Eagles only run of the game in the first inning. Trigg County had 20 hits in the game to go along with their 20 runs.

In their second scrimmage game on Saturday, Murray led CFS 9-0 after two innings, going on to win 20-1 in five innings on 17 hits. Emma Fletcher and Eddie Little picked up the only two hits for the Lady Eagles with Little picking up the RBI. Madison McClure led Murray at the plate going 4 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI.

In their first regular season game at home Thursday, the Lady Eagles lost 10-0 to Livingston Central in five innings. Livingston Central built an early 6-0 lead after two innings and added four more runs in the 5th inning led by Hailey Stiles who was 3/4 with a double and 3 RBI’s, Lauren Wring 2/4 and 2 RBI’s and Emily Dalton 2/2 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Allison Doyle was the winning pitcher going five innings, giving up three hits and no runs.
The Lady Eagles hits came from Edie Litte, Abbie Fletcher and Caitlyn Ivy.
The Lady Eagles next game is March 14th at home against University Heights at 5:30.
