Marshall County Sheriff’s Report February 20, 2017

On the afternoon of February 19th Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Luke Rudd responded to Salem Chapel Road in reference to a report of shots fired at an ATV and someone being held at gunpoint. Upon arrival, Deputies were taken to a field where the situation was ongoing. According to a citation filed by Deputy Greenfield, ATV riders were riding in an area with permission but had crossed onto adjoining property. They were stopped by a woman identified as Bonita Walker age 56 of Benton who reports owning the property. During the incident that ensued, Walker is alleged to have fired multiple rounds into ATVs while people were on them and had pointed a gun at the riders. One round missed a rider by approximately 2 inches. Walker was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

On February 8th at approximately 2:09pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Luke Rudd responded to Commerce Street in Hardin on an investigation. According to citations filed by Deputy Greenfield, investigation revealed that warrants existed for a man living at the residence,Patrick Cartwright. A woman living at the residence, Ashley N. Lassiter, at first lied to officers and said that he did not live there. She later admitted that he did. During the investigation, items were found in the home that resulted in new charges on Lassiter and Cartwright. Ashley N. Lassiter age 32 of Murray was charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension -2nd Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana 8oz to 5lbs 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana , Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Patrick Carwright age 31 of Hardin was charged with Trafficking in Marijuana 8oz to 5 lbs 1st Offense. Both were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On Friday, February 17th 2017, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Kentucky Probation and Parole officers reference to a warrant for fugitive parole absconder, Gary Rowland. Probation and Parole officers requested the assistance of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office because officers with Probation and Parole had information that Rowland was armed and dangerous. Detective Sergeant Kevin Mighell and Deputy William Strader responded to assist in the arrest. Officers located Rowland hiding under a bed inside the residence at 16 Davin Dale Lane Hardin, Ky. 42048.
During a search of the residence at 16 Davin Dale Lane Hardin, Ky., detectives located digital scales with meth residue, plastic baggie with over an ounce of methamphetamine, marijuana, loaded handguns and a loaded rifle inside the residence. Montana Cunningham was also located inside the residence. Rowland had more than $2000 cash on his person. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed. Both subjects were arrest and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. A list of charges are located below.
Montana Cunningham- trafficking controlled substance 1st degee 1st offense more than 2 grams of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia
Gary Rowland- trafficking controlled substance 1st degee 1st offense more than 2 grams of meth-firearms enhancement, possession of drug paraphernalia-firearms enhancement and possession of handgun by convicted felon.
