Lady Marshals celebrate senior night with win over Madisonville-North Hopkins

DRAFFENVILLE – The Lady Marshals wrapped up their regular season Tuesday at home with a 57-29 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins on senior night. Seniors Lexee Miller, Miyah Davis, Paige Henson, Hannah Langhi and manager Ally Terrell were recognized along with their parents, following the win but it won’t be their last game on the court at Reed Conder Gymnasium with a district tournament game still to be played against Calloway County Tuesday at 6:00. A win over Calloway County will put the Lady Marshals in the championship game on Thursday against Murray.

Langhi scored the first four points of the game for a 4-0 Lady Marshal lead, tied up by Madisonville with baskets by Molly Stone and Courtney Peyton. Tied again at 6-6, Davis hit her first of five threes in the game to put them up by three and they would lead 13-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Chloe Kerrick sank a 3-pointer to start the second quarter scoring for the Lady Marshals on their way to out-scoring the Lady Maroons 14-3. Leading 21-7, a free throw by Madisonville at 4:44 in the quarter ended a Lady Marshals 10-0 run that began in the first quarter and they lead 27-10 at halftime.

Davis opened the second half with a three to put the Lady Marshals up by 20 points, and the remaining five of their eight third quarter points came from Langhi to lead 35-19.

Henson’s basket to open the fourth was the start of 22 points in the quarter for the Lady Marshals in their 57-29 win, led by Davis with 14 of the 22 on her way to lead all scorers in the game with 23 points. Langhi had a great stat line in the win with 19 points and 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocked shots and 4 steals.
