DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County High School hosted the 2017 Kentucky NASP Region 1 Archery Tournament on Saturday, January 28th. Five schools competed at the high school level with Trigg County taking the win. Trigg County also won the middle school competition while Farmington Elementary won the elementary division.
Trigg County’s Jeffery Ross took first with 297 points and 28 tens, just three points from a perfect score of 300. Trigg County had the top five scores of the tournament and as a team posted a score of 3,424 points in the win, second place went to Murray with 3,308, Marshall County was third with 3,306, Graves County fourth scoring 3,253, Calloway County fifth with 3,173 and Community Christian Academy sixth with a score of 2,764
The top archer for Marshall County was Daniel Bryant who finished in sixth place with a score of 287 and 19 tens.
Two from North Marshall Middle and four from South Marshall Middle competed in the Middle School division. From North, Tyra McWilliams placed 5th of 60 with a score of 276 and 15 tens. From South, Karsen Eubanks placed 37th with a score of 239 with 3 tens.
The Marshall County team will compete again on February 4th in the Spring Archery Competition at Graves County High School.
