Mrs. Rubye Nell Edwards, age 96 of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was a retired Elementary Education Teacher for Marshall County and a member of Fairdealing Church of Christ. She was the caretaker and trustee of the Fairdealing Cemetery. Born Tuesday, October 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Opa G. Faughn and the late Mertie (Walker) Faughn. Surviving are son, Eddy Edwards, wife Nola J. of Benton, KY, daughter, Sara Lynne Savells of Gallatin, TN, brother, John M. Faughn, grandchildren, Christy Savells Sanders, Brittney Edwards, Lauren Ford, Stacy Kennedy, and great grandchildren, Audrey Sanders, Caroline Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders, Leila Ford, Walt Kennedy, and Ruby Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Buel Edwards, brother, Pat H. Faughn, and son-in-law, Jerald "Jerry" Savells. A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Cory Westerfield officiating. Interment will follow in Fairdealing Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home.
