
DRAFFENVILLE – Eight games into their season the Christian Fellowship boy’s basketball team is 0-8 but not without some games that were very competitive, losing by 10 or less points in three of those games. The Eagles have a roster of 12 players this season that includes seniors Jordan Choate and Logan Draffen. Junior’s are Blayne Starkey, Bryce Etheridge, Elijah Toth, Jesse Covey, Jordan Vaughn and Jaret Logsdon. Sophomore players are Ethan Binkley and Nanthanial Hummel. Freshman include Ari Phillips and Andrew Cary. Christian Fellowship’s Head Coach is Billy Hodge.
Their season opened on November 28th against Dawson Springs. The Eagles lost 70-42 led in scoring by Jordan Choate with 17, 12 coming from 3-point range, while Dawson Springs was led by Dylan Simpson with 22.

On November 29th at Marion, a big 29 point 3rd quarter led Crittenden County over CFS 57-17. Crittenden County was led by Gavin Dickerson with 24 points. Choate led the Eagles in the game with 7 points.

The Eagles traveled to Huntington, TN to play Carroll Academy on December 1st, losing 47-40 with Choate leading the way with 17 points while Dallas Willis led Carroll Academy with 17. The Eagles trailed 22-11 at halftime and out-scored Carroll Academy in the second half 29-25 but it wasn’t enough to overcome their first half deficit.

Portland Christian came to Christian Fellowship on December 2nd. Led by Quincy Dye with 20 points, Portland Christian won 62-50. Choate had another game with four 3-pointers to lead the Eagles with 12 points.

At CFS on December 3rd, the Eagles fell to Beth Haven 69-59. Beth Haven was led by Austin Strable with 23 points in the win and Choate led CFS with 19 that included three 3-pointers. CFS trailed by 8 points at halftime and continued to keep Beth Haven within reach in the second half in the 10-point loss.

At Fulton City on December 6th, CFS lost 53-38 getting 13 points from Choate while Fulton City’s Brandon Walker led with 15 points.

Their closest contest of the season to date came on December 9th against Evangel Christian. CFS lost 71-65 led by Etheridge with 19 points and Choate with 16. The Eagles hit seven 3-pointers in the game, four by Vaughn and three from Choate. Choate also led in rebounds with 10.

Monday, CFS fell to Joppa, IL 76-50 led in points by Choate with 14. Joppa was led in the win by Thomas Kendall with 26.

Christian Fellowship will host their annual Itty-Bitty Christmas Tournament beginning Thursday through Saturday. The Eagles opening game will be at 8:00 against Eygptian, IL.
